Mathew Snow & The Way It Was

Mathew Snow & The Way It Was

Tuesday, August 16, at 7:00pm

With songs stemming from the blues, roots, and rock genres, Mathew Snow writes the kind of tune that you might remember hearing just before a 4am last call at some Chicago dive on the tail end of an 8-hour long whiskey and cigarette binge. With the ability to deliver both desirous ballads & harder-hitting danceable tracks, listeners might recall “John Lennon’s solo material with a bluesy slant” according to Steve Mosco of the LIC Courier.

Singer/Songwriter Mathew Snow draws his bluesy grit from a north-eastern Ohio upbringing, while guitarist (and Japanese native) Hiro Suzuki plays like an old soul from New Orleans in the 1960s. Drummist Matt Olley and bassist Chris Lavas sharpened their skills growing up in the Long Island indie rock scene. They all eventually found their way to NYC and with a little bit of luck, they crossed paths in Astoria, NY and formed what is now the foot-stomping blues-rock sound of Mathew Snow & the Way It Was.
